Kyle to Perform at Celtic Connections

Kyle has been booked to perform at this year’s Celtic Connections festival on January 24th at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow in a night of ‘Gaelic meets Gaelic Americana’ with Uist Singer Gillebride MacMillan. Kyle’s new cinematographic music video for her song ‘Let Them Be All Reprise’ premiered today on Folk Radio UK–the UK’s largest roots and folk music website. Glowing Review from Canada’s ‘Penguin Eggs’ Magazine

‘North Star’ received a glowing review from Canada’s leading folk and roots magazine ‘Penguin Eggs’, which features the album prominently–calling it ‘an impressive second album’, evocative of Nanci Griffith. The summer edition also features such luminaries as Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, Rhiannon Giddens and Altan.

KZFR Includes ‘Casey Jones’ in American Roots Feature

KZFR out of Chico, California has included Kyle’s song ‘Casey Jones Whistle Blow’ in a special broadcast on the life of the famed train conductor, and the story behind the infamous American folk ballad. ‘North Star’ Nominated for Celtic Music Radio Award

The title track off of ‘North Star’ has been nominated in the ‘Roots Traditional’ Category along with Skipper’s Alley and the Henry Girls for the 2014 awards. ‘North Star’ Released in the UK

‘North Star’ released officially in the UK on March 1st and what better way to celebrate than a premier on the famous ‘Mike Harding Folk Show’. Mike played ‘Cairistiona’ on his renowned program and described Kyle as, ‘a voice to die for’. Listen to the podcast in full here!

Kyle to appear on ‘Hometown Alaska’

On February 25th, Kyle will be appearing on Charles Wohlforth’s program ‘Hometown Alaska’ on Alaska’s NPR station–KSKA. Kyle, along with another special guest, will discuss the mix of Alaskan native heritage and other cultural traditions in their music, in a show entitled ‘Crossing Native Culture’. The show will broadcast live at 2:00 p.m. Alaska time, and will be available to re-stream on-line and via podcast.
